Biology is a required course for all high schoolers. The focus of this course is learning to think in a critical, scientific way and to study living organisms from the subcellular level to the ecosystem level. It is a STAAR EOC tested subject. All students must actively participate in class and out of class to be successful. In addition, students in this course will be preparing to take Advanced Placement and Dual Credit courses for college credit in the future. Therefore, honors students are expected to do more out of class work, work at a faster pace, and master more complex concepts than non-honors Biology.
